Abbeydale has 8 tennis courts in total, that cater for all standards of play.

Outdoors, there are 3 acrylic courts and 3 tarmac courts, one of which is floodlit, plus we boast the only 2 carpet indoor courts in Yorkshire, with a glazed viewing gallery from the tennis clubhouse.

The club has a purpose built ‘KIDS ZONE’ which incorporates a mini tennis red court and practice wall, enclosed in a secure environment for the kids.

Inside the tennis clubhouse, you will be greeted by one of our friendly reception team, who man the reception desk from 9am – 11pm for 7 days a week.

As well as the reception, the clubhouse incorporates the café/members lounge, changing facilities, toilets and club tennis pro shop.

In September 2006, Abbeydale submitted a planning application to Sheffield City Council to build new facilities, which include:

• 2 new indoor tennis courts (air dome structure)
• New purpose-built clubhouse, including bar/café
• Resurface courts 3,4 & 5 in porous acrylic surface
• Add disabled facilities, including a lift to 2 floors
• New tarmac car park for 40 cars

The Club has secured funding from the Lawn Tennis Association to help fund this development. Planning Permission was granted on 30th July 2007. The Club has now applied to The LTA for stage 2 approval of the loan and grant.
